01

Confirm file and revision

Match part number and revision across 2D and 3D, identify the quoted configuration and remove reference components outside scope.

02

Check units, scale and geometry

Compare overall size with a known dimension. Check DXF scale and profiles, STEP bodies and faces, and explicitly state STL units.

03

Compare 2D and 3D

Cross-check holes, threads, slots, radii, wall thickness and datums. Identify the governing document if they differ.

04

Final checklist

A one-minute check prevents repeated clarification.

  • Matching revision
  • Explicit units
  • Complete DXF profiles
  • Correct STEP bodies
  • Defined tolerances and finishes
  • Quantity and required date
  • Governing document identified

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can the viewer detect every error?

No. It supports preliminary viewing; engineering and manufacturing review is still required.

What if 2D and 3D conflict?

Flag the discrepancy and release a consistent governing revision.
