Conversion can change data
A DWG-to-DXF conversion does not automatically damage a drawing, but exact preservation cannot be guaranteed in every case. Results depend on versions, CAD objects, fonts, xrefs, proxies and the converter.

What normally survives conversion, what can change and a practical post-conversion checklist.

A DWG-to-DXF conversion does not automatically damage a drawing, but exact preservation cannot be guaranteed in every case. Results depend on versions, CAD objects, fonts, xrefs, proxies and the converter.
Standard 2D lines, polylines, arcs, circles, layers and many blocks often transfer reliably. Entity counts, coordinates, units, scale and closed profiles still require verification.
SHX/Big Fonts, complex MTEXT, dynamic blocks, proxy objects, xrefs, images, custom objects and some hatches may change or disappear. Exporting to a much older DXF version can force object decomposition.
Open the DXF in a different application, use zoom extents and compare it against the source DWG or released PDF.
The Beta creates temporary DXF data on the device for display. It does not modify the source DWG or create a downloadable production DXF. Export an official DXF from the source CAD system when it will drive manufacturing.

FAQ
Not when exporting to a new file. Keep the source and never overwrite it.
Often yes, but profiles, units and scale still need checking.
No. It exists only in the browser for displaying the DWG.
