VietTech CAD Viewer adds online 2D DWG support

The new 2D DWG Beta opens drawings in the browser, processes them locally and usually loads faster after the CAD reader has been cached.

2D DWG is now available

VietTech CAD Viewer now accepts 2D DWG alongside DXF, STEP/STP and STL. The Beta is intended for engineers, buyers and suppliers who need a quick drawing review without installing AutoCAD for a preliminary viewing task.

Local processing on the device

The browser-based reader converts the drawing to temporary DXF data for display. The file is not uploaded to VietTech servers. Local processing reduces server cost and limits transmission of engineering data.

03

Why the first DWG can take longer

The first use downloads and starts the CAD reader, which can add a few seconds. The browser caches the reader, so later DWG files on the same device are usually faster. Progress messages show each loading, reading, conversion and rendering stage.

04

Beta scope and limits

The Beta focuses on common 2D DWG files up to 20 MB. Proxy objects, external references, SHX/Big Fonts and very complex structures may not render completely. Verify production-critical information against the released PDF or a compatible DXF exported from the source CAD system.

  • 2D DWG up to 20 MB
  • Local processing without server upload
  • Cached reader for faster later use
  • Compatibility warnings and clear error states
  • Preliminary review, not a controlled drawing replacement

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is a DWG uploaded to VietTech servers?

No. The current DWG Beta processes the file locally in the user's browser.

Why is the first DWG slower?

The browser must download and initialize the CAD reader. Later files are usually faster because the reader is cached.

What may not render completely?

Proxy objects, special fonts, external references and very complex drawings may require a source-CAD DXF or PDF for comparison.
